my work is created through the practice and perfection of repetitive processes, using a minimal palette of materials. wooden beads are cut and drilled by hand, then shaped one at a time. they are individually oiled, sometimes dyed, finish sanded, and oiled again. each leather sequin is punched one at a time, and each leather tassel is cut and wrapped by hand. the imperfections in the materials as well as the techniques i use to manipulate them make each piece unique.

i am inspired by geometry, texture, and simplicity, but am especially inspired by the materials i work with. each time i think of an idea for a necklace, i try to reduce my design down to only the essential elements.

i studied a wide variety of studio media and liberal arts at kalamazoo college in michigan, and currently live and work in philadelphia.
